Javid Khan founded Holoxica in 2008 to commercialize the results of his doctorate in Photonics Engineering on Holographic 3D displays at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
Through his pioneering research, Javid has won several national and international awards in business and photonics. Most recently, he was awarded SPIE Scholarship in Optics and Photonics.
Javid has been chosen to speak at several international conferences on behalf of Holoxica. He recently presented at the Photonex 2011 conference held in Coventry, UK.

He is an expert assessor for UK government’s R&D programs and was formerly a Scientific Officer at the European Commission. During his eleven years in that role, he was tasked with defining research programs and running international high tech projects and was responsible for approximately forty R&D projects with a total value of over €100 million. Prior to beginning his doctorate, Javid was responsible for research and advanced product development for professional and consumer markets at Philips.
Javid holds MEng and MSc degrees in Microelectronics and Telecoms Engineering from Manchester University.
