Company history

Holoxica is an award-winning high-tech company specialised in holographic 3D visualization technologies such as digital holograms, holographic video displays and a whole holosuite of proprietary software. The company was founded in 2008 and set up to commercialise the founder, Javid Khan's, doctoral research into holographic 3D displays. It started trading in 2012 by selling digital holograms.

The digital holograms were aimed at high-end professional applications including medical imaging, scientific models, engineering, construction and architecture and made from computer models, scanned data or live images. We created many ‘world firsts’.

Holoxica has pioneered a patented dynamically changeable holographic display. A second generation prototype was unveiled on national UK television. This technology has 3D images floating in mid-air that can change in real time. Interactivity via a Kinect interface allows you to 'touch' icons in space and to do things like draw in mid-air. Applications include head-up displays and novel user interfaces with an added dimension.

We are now focusing on light field displays capable of showing colour motion video and proprietary 3D visualisation software. We have an experienced team capable of delivering on extreme hardware, software and 3D graphics projects that can convert any kind of 3D digital data into a hologram.

We work at the intersection of science, engineering and design. It’s all about 3D - Dots, Data and Design -  We connect dots in space and engineer light to bend and design images in free space. Basically, a 3D display of an object is the art and science of arranging dots and playing with light.  In doing so, we truly bring 3D Digital to life without the need for glasses or headsets.
